Permissions worth setting up on day one
The default mistake is giving everyone the owner login "for now". These four splits cover most of the risk in a Sri Lankan retail shop:
- Hide cost price and supplier details from counter staff — they only need the selling price.
- Cap discount authority: a cashier can give 5%, a manager can approve more.
- Require a manager login for refunds and bill cancellations after the sale is closed.
- Restrict stock adjustments to the person who actually counts stock, and review the log weekly.
